This step-by-step tutorial will show you how to rip DVD to Apple TV video and audio files on your Mac. After downloading and installing 4Media DVD to Apple TV Converter for Mac, you can follow the steps below to accomplish the DVD to Apple TV conversion.
Step 1: Load DVD Run 4Media DVD to Apple TV Converter for Mac, and insert DVD into your DVD-ROM, then the program will load the DVD automatically by default. You can also click the "Add" button or "File > Add..." to load DVD disc or DVD folder.
Step 2: Set the output format, destination and file name Choose the titles or chapters, and then select the profile you want from the "Profile" drop-down list on the "General" tab. For example, if you want to get a high quality video for your Apple TV, just choose the "Apple TV MPEG-4 High 480P(640×480) (*.mp4)" profile.
Click the "Browse" button to choose the folder to save the output files or just keep the default path, and enter the output file name in the "Output filename" textbox on the "General" tab.
Tip: Before ripping, you can preview the source file via the built-in player in the right bottom and also take a snapshot when previewing by clicking the "Capture Frame" button. Step 3: Set the output parameters After choosing the profile, you can adjust parameters settings like Video Quality, Audio Quality, Video Size, Track, Subtitle on the "General" tab, or go to the "Advance" tab and adjust the following parameter settings: Frame Rate, Channels, Angle, Zoom, Split, etc.
Tip: If you just want to convert a segment, please follow the steps below to trim the video. Choose the title or chapter of the DVD you want to trim, and click the "Trim" button on the toolbar to open the "Video Trim" window. In the "Video Trim" window, click the "Play" button to play the video. When it comes to the very start position, click the "Set Begin" button to set it as begin point, and click the "Set End" button to set end point, then you will get the segment you want.
If you're not happy with the segment you set, just click the "Reset" button to reset the segment. Click the "OK" button to apply your settings, and then a scissors icon will be displayed at the front of the title/chapter length. Step 4: Start conversion After everything is OK, click the "Convert" button to start ripping.
After the ripping completed, click the "Open" button at the bottom of the main interface to browse the output files.
